The embezzlement of two million naira (2mn) every day from the revenue accruing in keke levies in the state by the state transport commissioner may not be new to keke levies collectors, neither the keke operators or a quite number of Akwa Ibom people in the state but it could be new in the ears of the state governor, Deac. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
This silent is broken following the present cash crunch in the state which has crippled Udom’s government from actualizing his industrialization dream when the transport commissioner, Mr Ntuk Udeh is comfortably and quietly making a windfall of two million naira every day from government money through the keke levy.
The State Commissioner for Transport tactically actualized his fraudulent act through the award of contract for keke revenue collection to his private company where office is in Nsikak Eduok Avenue in Uyo. He is indirectly the contractor handling the keke revenue collection without the notice of the state transport ministry officials as he presented a fake keke levies contractor to government officials in the transport ministry.
Apart from the two million (2mn) naira embezzled by the state transport boss on only keke revenue, Mr Godwin Ntuk Udeh is also registering good numbers of keke with the sum of ten thousand (N10,000) naira each every day and taxi caps fifty thousand (N50,000) naira every day. Interestingly, the keke and taxi caps registration is not inclusive in the two million (N2mn) embezzled by Akparawa Godwin Ntuk Udeh everyday as the registrations fund has not been remitted to the state government.
It is very sad that when the state government is looking for funds to run the government, Akparawa Godwin Ntuk Ndeh is making over two million naira every day without skin pains.
